Friday’s Stitching Ground ๐Ÿฐ

Tonight it looks like Maximus is the only one keeping me company!

I finished the previous small I was working on, but you won’t see it until Sunday. I felt like doing another one so I pulled this one out of my smalls stash box.

I thought I would give this drink a try, good thing I only bought one! And also thinking about the Welsh cakes I’ll be making tomorrow.

If you get any of the wonderful British stitching magazines, do you stitch the freebies they include with them? I can’t remember if this cute bunny came from one of those, or from a retreat freebie table that someone didn’t want. Either way, it’s a quick, fun one!

Scavenger Photo Hunt, February ๐Ÿ“ท

Happy end of February! It's time for Katie's I live, I love, I craft, I am me ... scavenger photo hunt this month.

The words for February are...

Heart
The Amish heart quilt in our guest bedroom, I love how it looks 3D in the photo.

Tail (AND Heart!)
Maximus and Ming showing the love.

Repair
My cousin in Germany sent me this beautiful mermaid mug, but unfortunately it broke in the box. I glued it and need to seal it to try and use it as a planter... we'll see if it actually works out!

Key (board)
This is a daily occurrence when trying to type.

Knot
I bought this sweet Mary Undoer of Knots when I took Gman2 back to school at Franciscan Univ. She lives in my craft room.

My Own Choice
These poor little Snowdrops haven't seen any snow yet! We've been teased with talk of snow, but I think this year is a bust. If we don't get any snow by Saturday, that will be the first February in 150 years to not see any snow in the Baltimore area.

See you next month.
Thanks, Katie!

Friday's Stitching Ground ๐ŸŽฒ

Tonight has me stitching with the boys! Well, they're playing CATAN, but I'm stitching at the table with them.
Gman2 came home this weekend - YAY! - and his friend, MrS came over to see him. One of my other sons!

I decided to leave the Invisible Man the way he is for now, I'll see how the rest of the house looks before I decide. Now I'm working on the boring part, the floor and then the walls.

I'm not sure I've shown the witch before, I decided to make her green, change the broom, and change her dress colour. I also added whiskers to the kitty, he looked naked without them! The moon I left as is.

I think Gman2 needed a break from school, but he also wanted to get some of the beer he and his friends "brewed" with DH last month. And hey, they're playing Catan here too!
Gman1 came home to join in on the fun for that game. Nice group of guys, they were in Austria together last semester.

What kind of games do you like to play with family/friends?

What is it? ๐Ÿ•ถ

Oh my, what did I create?!
My thought was to add the Invisible Man in the chair, but maybe he's the Purple People Eater instead? ๐Ÿ˜† That's what Karen thought at first!
So should he stay, should he be altered, or should he go? I'm not really liking his shirt/jacket, maybe that's most of the problem?

The pattern with the empty chair, maybe the Invisible Man is already sitting there... he's just naked?! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Friday's Stitching Ground ๐Ÿ“บ

I was hoping to finish the moon by this evening, but blog hopping sort of got in the way! It's all good, I saw lots of lovely stitching today. Did you get to see them all?

For our Valentine's Day, we made pizza and watched Independence Day: Resurgence. Nathan never saw the first one so we'll have to watch that at some point.

Here Ming is keeping me company, with Max in the background.

At least the roof is finished and the moon shouldn't take that much longer.

I'm not sure who's more comfy, Ming or Nathan?!

So how did you spend your ๐Ÿ’˜ day?

Secret Stitching Sweetheart Blog Hop ๐Ÿ’˜

Is your heart fluttering for the Secret Stitching Sweetheart Blog Hop with Jo @Serendipitous Stitching?!
It looks like there is lots of love out there to be found, please take a look at all the sweet stitching. Can you figure out who stitched what before they reveal themselves?

This is what I received, did you happen to stitch this LOVELY piece?

So is this from a blog friend, or maybe a new one I haven't met yet?

Wishing you love and friendship on this Valentine's Day, and remember that you are able to make someone smile today... will you?

Mom/Oma and the Family ๐Ÿ’—

This past Saturday we went to see my parents for the day while my brother and SIL were visiting them while in town for their short trip.

And it snowed while we were there! Not very much, but it looked pretty.

Addie "talking" to Nathan, telling him about what's been going on.

Oma and Addie.
Addie has really been such a blessing being there, entertaining them and keeping them on their toes! Everyone who meets her loves her, she is precious.

Cathy was hoping it would snow, they rarely get snow in Baton Rouge!

Hard to get a good picture, my brother was pretty toasted happy!

Genuine laughter, something about underwear...

Opa made a sponge cake for the occasion, it was delicious! Although still not quite the same as having it made in the UK, the US ingredients aren't quite the same.

Opa had a chair lift added for Oma, it's getting harder for her to use the stairs even though they were built shorter and longer for her. Nathan was the tester!

This was taken on Sunday, just before they left. They had to hold Oma up, it's getting harder for her to walk and standing up is difficult. I don't think she walks enough, but she doesn't have the energy for it.
My Mom's health overall isn't that great. She was recently in the hospital because her sodium level was so low, they wanted to monitor her heart. It turns out two of her meds were interacting with whatever salt she had added to her food, so now she's taking salt tablets daily. If Dad takes her out for an appointment, she can barely make it back in the house, thus the reason for the chair lift. She's still having to eat pureed foods, I'm not sure she'll ever be able to have proper food again which is upsetting for her. Nathan and I are supposed to visit them again this weekend, so I'm going to make some soup for her to try. It's hard to find the right food to make her, because when it goes through the sieve to take out any chunks, the flavour can change when the spices are crushed. So if any of you have any ideas, please let me know!

On a brighter note, last month Oma celebrated her 81st birthday!

I couldn't come that day, but as a surprise, Opa had some of their friends over for cake and tea.

That weekend, Gman2 and I stopped by on our way to taking him back to school.

And later on that week, Gman1 and C came to visit.

Opa loves to make everyone wear hats when he can, so this time Gman1 got him to wear one!

And thanks, Cathy, for asking about her.

Friday's Stitching Ground ๐Ÿง›‍♂️

Ah, my stitching view this evening, sitting with my lovely sister-in-law! They came late Thursday evening from Baton Rouge to attend a funeral mass in DC for a friend of theirs. They were actually supposed to be at my parents this evening, but meeting up with old friends had them coming home late and rather than driving two+ hours to get there, they are here another night. We're not complaining and love spending time with them!

So here's my spot, with Ming keeping me company.

I'm still working on The Haunted Mansion, this roof sure is taking it's time being constructed! I'm still enjoying almost every stitch and still haven't been tempted enough to work on anything else.

Do you have family close by you, or do you have to wait for special times to see them like we do with my brother and family?
