Another finish and fabulous 50!

My friend since Jr High, Nina, has joined the 50's club! Yay, keep 'em coming!

Because she is known for her sugar "crack" cookies, I thought this was perfect for her.

These are some of the cookies she has made. Her husband's donut cookies (upper right) had a bite out of them!

And I think she taught him well, he made her birthday cake.

Big news in the family, her daughter and son-in-law are expecting twins! The Gmen are showing their support and trying to make sure they're boys!

TH Thursday

Oops, late posting, maybe it should be Forgetful Friday!

THinking, THinking, THinking...

THinking THoughts, and being THankful on THursdays.

Since it's almost over (at least with school starting soon), I'm thankful for summer.
I had a wonderful time in Canada in June with just our family, a fantastic cruise in July with the extended family, a getaway with Nathan to Deep Creek Lake, time with friends, parties, evenings by the fire pit before it got too hot, volunteering at events, and hopefully a dinner out with just DH this weekend!

How was your summer? What summer events were you thankful for?

Sad Treasures

Back in June I went to the Goodwill store near me and found these...

This was written on the back.

So very sad, I often wonder what will happen to things I stitched (already found one here!)

I didn't purchase any of those, but I did rescue this one.

I had seen it before in one of my magazines and thought about stitching it, but never did.
I felt this one needed to be "saved" and for $4 it wasn't too hard! The frame isn't the best, so I might reframe it.
It's stitched beautifully and the skin is over one. I wish they had put their initials and/or date on it.

Eclipse Fun and My Stitch Partner

DH and Nathan getting his viewer ready.
He took it to camp with him to use.

Karen using the one I made one just before it started. We were only going to be able to see 80% of it. If Karen had stayed in SC longer before moving, she would have seen it at 100%. She kept wanting to take a direct peek, but I told her she needed her stitching eyes undamaged!

I love how you can see the trees, clouds, and sun in there.

It's a heart!

You can't tell from this picture, but it was dark enough that the outside lights came on.

After that, we went inside to see it live and clearly. So awesome!

Then Ming and Max had to check the box out, silly kitties.

Nathan wanted to stitch again, but wanted to do something other than the cat he had started several years ago. He lost interest in it because it was hard using the yarn that it came with.

He chose this and is quite happy doing it. Can you guess what it is with the little bit he's done?

Christmas in August!

At last, Christmas in July, but posting in August! ๐Ÿ˜ž

Thanks again to Kaye, for organizing this Christmas in July exchange. This time I was sending AND receiving from Australia, what fun!

Stitching Noni @ Fireflies & Cats in the Garden sent me this...
A Panda pattern, a boomerang, a snowman scissor fob, a stitched snowman/penguin card, a stitched bell ornament, buttons and embellishments, yummy chocolates, and adorable koala fabric! I believe I got everything. Wow, I've been spoiled!
I think I'll get a frame for the card so I can display it better. I mentioned I thought I needed to find a koala pattern to use the fabric with and Noni sent me this link to Carrol Nielsen Cross Stitch Designs. So many to choose from!

Close up of the card, bell ornament, and fob.

Nathan and I had some of the chocolate coins ๐Ÿ˜, but I'm saving the Cadbury for later.
Once again, thank you so much, Noni! I love everything and Nathan appreciates the coins!

I sent my package to Lyn, but she doesn't have a blog. Because I wanted to send her a rum cake from our Caribbean cruise in July, she didn't receive it until August.

This is what I sent Lyn, but forgot to take a picture of the chocolate rum cake.

I made the card and the angel earrings, stitched Father Christmas on the sled, and the Christmas tree. I sort of made the tree into a shadow box, I'm not quite sure it ended up the way I thought it would, but there it is.

Another fun exchange, thank you, Kaye! ๐Ÿ’Ÿ

TH Thursday

THinking, THinking, THinking...

THinking THoughts, and being THankful on THursdays.

What are three ways to say "Thank You" without using the words, thank you?
I think the first way might be to smile or nod.
The second might be sending a card, but if you can't say thank you, you'd have to be creative!
And the third might be to do something for them or maybe even stitch a little something.
Oh, and a hug never hurts!

What other ways can you think of?

A little shopping and another finish

Karen had to pick up some floss and beads at the Stitching Post last Saturday so I had to keep her company!

I like using perforated paper, but I don't like how you can only get it in 14 count.
I found these bits of fabric that are so stiff, it's like using paper. I'm going to try it and see how it goes.

Even though I promised myself I wasn't going to buy any more charts, I love this one.
Hello, fall!

I just finished this, Mill Hill Frosty Mug. I changed the snowflake to a sparkle floss so it would stand out better. Not sure if I'm framing it or what.

Another Mill Hill start, with some help!

Rhona's Stitching Log

This is way overdue, I meant to post this a while ago and forgot. ๐Ÿ˜–

Rhona's Stitching Log

I have this printed out, but hate to say I haven't used it yet. I've been working on little projects, or ones I started a long time ago, so I wasn't too pressed to log them. I do have some big ones I hope to be starting soon and I'm planning on using it then.

Thanks for sharing, Rhona!

Finally, a complete finish!

I started this waaay back in 2013 and finally finished the series!
No real reason for the delay, just laziness putting it aside.

Now to figure out what to do with them. I was originally thinking of putting them in a book, still might.
I wish I had stitched them over one, I like them smaller and this seems huge!

TH Thursday

THinking, THinking, THinking...

THinking THoughts, and being THankful on THursdays.

Today I am thankful for spending quality time with Nathan at Deep Creek Lake yesterday!

We packed in a lot of fun stuff to do in one day! He even "let" me go antiquing and this is what I found.
