April's Scavenger Photo Hunt Words... with details!

It's official, this is my first month hosting the Scavenger Photo Hunt, so let's run with it!

Once again, thanks to Katie @I live, I love, I craft, I am me..., for entrusting me to continue with her photo hunt prompt and link up.
I don't think I've really changed much, but here's a refresher. And I hope I've included all the suggestions given on the last post!

๐Ÿ“ท Please share whatever photo or photos you feel goes with the word that is given.

๐Ÿ“ท It doesn't have to be a recent photo, oldies are goodies too!

๐Ÿ“ท Please give some type of description of your photo. As little, or as much, as you want to describe it.

๐Ÿ“ท If once a week is too much and you'd rather post every other week, feel free to include both words. Or if you'd rather wait until the end of the month and post them all together, that's fine too.

๐Ÿ“ท And for my stitchy and/or crafty friends, I'm sure you might be able to find something you've created that would fit?

๐Ÿ“ท I'm planning on posting the link up on Thursday evening so those ahead of my US east coast time zone won't have to wait. I'll keep it up until Sunday evening.

๐Ÿ“ท If you've missed the cutoff time/date, I can always add it after that for you.

So without further ado, here are the Friday words for April...
April 2nd Chocolate
April 9th Farm
April 16th The colour purple
April 23rd Earth
April 30th Bubble

Scavenger Photo Hunt - March ๐Ÿ“ท

Welcome to this week's Scavenger Photo Hunt from Katie @I live, I love, I craft, I am me...

This is actually Katie's last hurrah of hosting these fun, and sometimes challenging, words. I have offered to take over starting next month. Can you please give me your input as to whether you liked it when there were monthly words, or rather like having a weekly word? Or maybe switch it up sometimes? Any other thoughts or comments would be appreciated as well. Obviously any pictures are welcome, I just try to add a stitched or crafty piece when I can.

Without further ado, here are the words this week...

Light/Dark...

The light outside of our dark bedroom.

Ah, Mr Chewy, loving that snow! He's so easy to spot out there, besides the fact that he would run around like crazy enjoying it.

Sweet little Addie just after Nathan and I picked her up for my parents.

I love Halloween lights glowing in the darkness.

These two are double trouble together!

Nothing beats a bonfire on a moonlit night.

This was for an exchange, I love this Margaret Sherry kitty!

And finally, these two are the light in any darkness in our house!

Thanks again, Katie, for all of the great blogging prompts. I know I didn't start at the beginning, but I've had a great time joining in!
Please don't forget to visit the other wonderful blogs and to also give me your input for the future.

And once again, I'm backed up on reading blogs and responding to emails. Just when I think I'm caught up!

A Very Generous Friend ๐Ÿฅฐ

A friend from church knows that I'm a stitcher, and asked if I would like her supplies as she is no longer stitching. Um, yes please!

I know I have all of the DMC colours, including the newest ones, but having extra is always handy.
How do you store your extras? I have one big container that holds all of them, then smaller boxes like these to hold the extras. Because I have them from different places, I now have three sets of them.. I think I should put them together in order instead of searching through each set when I need one. How do you sorts your extras?

I'm pretty sure all of this is Aida fabric, which I very rarely use. But this will have a new home once I send it to Cathy @ The Stitching Grandma. She stitches adorable smaller pieces and donates them to various places/charities. I'm sorry I haven't sent it yet, Cathy. I must do it this week!

There are a few here I would like to stitch, the fall/Halloween ones for sure. Do any of these interest you?

These are very sweet, but I doubt I'll stitch them. Any interest?

These are adorable, not sure if I should save them for future grandchildren?!

Oh my, some oldies! Obviously you don't have to stitch them on clothing, although I'm sure DH would wear a couple of those sweaters! ๐Ÿคฃ

Now these are very tempting, but maybe not stitching them as a stocking? I might need to think about that.

I have a few of the Prairie Schooler Santas, but this is a nice bunch! I do have plans to stitch them at some point. I even saw them finished in a tin house frames that I really liked.

I'm not really a sampler stitcher, are you?

This is one she started, but didn't finish. This is so sweet, I might just have to! Although I'm thinking of making it totally vertical instead of a stocking.

I used to have a clutch purse like the one in the picture, many moons ago! I wonder if it's still in a stray box at my parents house?!
Anything of interest here?

So thanks to Vickie, who gave me all these treasures. She's happy to hear that I'm sharing them with my stitching friends! If you see anything you would like, please let me know. If you need a better look, I can always sent a single photo of it.

Scavenger Photo Hunt - March ๐Ÿ“ท๐ŸŒ„

Welcome to this week's Scavenger Photo Hunt from Katie @I live, I love, I craft, I am me... The words this week are...

Sunset/Sunrise...

Sunrise
This one was at Haleakala National Park in Hawaii. My DH actually took this photo while we were there on a cruise. Nathan was too little to go and someone had to stay with him (and sleep in)!!!

This was early morning in Baltimore, Maryland, when I was able to actually go in the building to volunteer at the Christian radio station I listen to.

This was taken the morning we were driving to Pennsylvania to take Gman1 to visit a college he was interested in.

Early morning at Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland.

Sunset
A weekend stitching retreat near St. Michaels, Maryland.

Looking out our back deck to the trees behind us.

I'm pretty sure this is sunset?! At Topsail Beach, North Carolina, while spending a week there with the family.

Beautiful sunset at the same beach, different evening, it might have even been a different year!

The cornfield behind the house at Deep Creek Lake.

Now here's a beautiful piece that I have yet to stitch. I think I really need to get the same fabric, it's perfect for her.

Be sure to look at the other beautiful scenes from the others who are participating!

Scavenger Photo Hunt - March ๐Ÿ“ท↕

Welcome to this week's Scavenger Photo Hunt from Katie @I live, I love, I craft, I am me... The words this week are...

Look Up...

Say cheese!
This was taken in Toronto, Canada, when we were there celebrating my birthday in '17. We went to Rogers Centre to see the Toronto Blue Jays play baseball and this sculpture is there, "The Audience"

Viewing Snowdrops from the ground up.

Lady Liberty on Liberty Island in New York Harbour.

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
A "work" trip for DH that I was able to attend, we considered this our 20th Wedding Anniversary celebration.

Look Down...
Same trip, this time we were able to see it from a helicopter.

Looking down at Ming and Maximus this week as they sat and enjoyed the morning sun in my craft room window sill.

Oh my, no stitching, new or old, to show?! No worries, I do have some things to show that a friend was kind enough to give me since she's not stitching anymore.

I'm so sorry, I'm a week behind on responding to comments and most important - reading the Photo Hunt blogs! I know what I'll be catching up on this weekend.
Be sure to check out what the others have posted!

Scavenger Photo Hunt - March ๐Ÿ“ท ๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ

Welcome to this week's Scavenger Photo Hunt from Katie @I live, I love, I craft, I am me... The words this week are...

 Signs of Spring...

Our beautiful daffodils, although they always seem to bloom much later than our next door neighbour. I dug them out of this flowerbed in the fall because they were coming out of the ground and we need to redo that area anyways. I put them in the garage in a bucket where there are now starting to grow, have I killed them or what?!

Spring at my parents house, with my Mom's chapel in the background.

On one of our spring walks, I love seeing all the green after the dullness of winter.

This is where I left off with Gathering Honey, still quite a ways to go! It might be more summer, but the flowers make me think of spring.

Signs of Autumn...

Love that dragon on my parents roof, especially with the gold backdrop of leaves.

A sad fall, very quiet baseball games but nice to walk around the park.

Fall back...
"Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower."
~ Albert Camus

So many things to love about the fall - the colours, the falling leaves, the coolness, ahhh.

Be sure to see what others have posting for spring and/or fall.
See you next week.

An Actual Stitching Update!๐Ÿงœ‍♀️

So I picked up Sirena and saw that I hadn't worked on her since 2019?! Oh my, no way!
Then I remembered why I stopped, there was a frog that needed to be dealt with.

I did what frogging was needed and started stitching again to end up here.

The problem now is the chest that I stitched and the chest in the photo look totally different. I used the suggested floss, Blackboard, but mine looks sooo much darker and I don't like it! I'll look at my stash tomorrow to see if I have something lighter, otherwise I'm going shopping.

My car stitching is slow progress on this cute Mummy, but it's nice and easy while waiting on Nathan at school pick up.

It has been so nice to have Ming and Maximus sit with me again and have them roaming around the house like they used to before Chewie arrived. But it sounds like Chewie is ready to graduate from Boot Camp and come home this weekend! Hopefully he will remain calm enough with them and they'll come out more. Crossing fingers and paws!
