Scavenger Photo Hunt - Pizza 📷🍕

Welcome to the second word of the Scavenger Photo Hunt for September. As always, anyone can join in with whatever inspires you and I can always add it after the sign up is closed.
This week's word is -

Pizza
The one good thing to come from the craziness of the pandemic? Our pizza night on Friday's. We started with store bought dough and now DH and/or the boys make the dough. It's been a learning experience and I think they've got it down! The best part? I'm only responsible for cooking the sausage, the guys do all the rest, works for me!

The tools for our Friday pizza night.

The dough, adding garlic flavoured olive oil is delicious. DH has made it enough he doesn't use a recipe anymore, he just wings it and sometimes changes it up.

Learned the hard way, adding cornmeal helps the pizza slide off the paddle when putting it in the oven.

My side of the pizza with sausage, I'm not into the hot stuff like DH and the Gmen. Nathan still prefers plain cheese.

The sauce, yum. We've tried many different kinds of sauce, but this is our favourite. The funny thing is, Ledo's pizza is not my goto pizza place, but this sauce is delicious.

Putting it on the pizza stone needs two additional helpers so the toppings don't fall off!

The end results.
One of these Friday's I'm going to make a taco pizza, it's been way too long since I've had it!

My slice, I think I had three?!

This is a deep dish pizza Gman1 made in his cast iron pan. Gman2 now has a pan too, so using them both should make it much easier with less waiting to eat it!

When I was in my super healthy phase, I tried this and actually like it. The guys, not so much.

This Christmas tree container looks like a huge slice of candy pizza! Nathan enjoyed eating using it.

When Karen and I went to a stitching retreat a couple of weeks ago, this was in the pizza place we stopped in for lunch.

And this was the curtain hanging in the restroom window, fun!

No pizza stitching for me, but I saw this in the store the other day and I thought it was appropriate!

See you next week for the word, fall. Different ways to go with that one!

Fabulous! Saturday night is our pizza night. I rarely make pizza for us though. We order ours from different pizzarias. We LOVE pizza!

Astrid: Fun post, we use the Caulipower pizza rounds, we really like them.
My tummy is growling for pizza.

We have tried lots of different pizza dough recipes and have found a really nice simple, yeast free one. I like the idea of adding garlic oil. I tend to make my own pizza sauce and make up a big batch and freeze it in ice cube blocks as I find you don’t actually need that much sauce … it’s definitely all about the toppings. It’s lovely that you’ve made yourself a new Friday night tradition … one of the good things coming out of a tough year 😃

What a great way to get everyone to lend a hand in the kitchen on Fridays. I love pizza and usually make ours instead of buying.

Our middle son and DIL stayed last weekend and they made homemade pizza. The crust was flour, yeast, and water. So basic but there were 2 rising of the crust involved. So that took a little time. It did taste fantastic. We each put on our own toppings and it was delicious. My hubby and I want to make pizza again but will try a simple recipe for the crust. I like Carol's idea of making my own sauce and freezing enough for future pizza night. Also, we like our pizza baked in a cast iron pan. Patty Mc

I love pizza - never had it when I was growing up so I guess I'm making up for it now!

I applaud DH and co for making the actual pizza base; I just don't want to spend my precious time making the base (I'd rather be sewing or crocheting something). All your photos look yummy.
