Scavenger Photo Hunt - Purple πŸ“·πŸ’œ

Welcome to the third word of the Scavenger Photo Hunt for October. As always, anyone can join in with whatever inspires you and I can always add it after the sign up is closed.
If you can believe it, I had this started on Friday but didn't quite finish it, and then forgot about it!

Purple
Nathan sporting Laps for Lexi  this year, her favourite colour was purple.

Purple balloons with the moon.

I have a little Lexi collection.

I love my dragon and the ball changes colour.

Some of our crocuses in bloom.

Ice dyeing with purple, tshirts and stitching fabric.

This was from a retreat, pretty birdhouse in purple.

My Momma in her purple scarf during her Red Hat Society gathering a few years ago while in rehab.
She's been in the hospital recently with pneumonia and is so ready to come home!

Sweet Cori loving the "purple" tree.

Sunset near me with all those beautiful colours.

Bits of pottery I painted, various purples.

Depending on who I asked, the purple chair either has the Purple People Eater sitting in it, or what I intended, the Invisible Man! Which one do you see?

Santa in his robe.

See you on Friday for costumes, maybe I'll actually been on time for once?!

Scavenger Photo Hunt, October πŸ“·

In spite of the rain yesterday and a bit of a dreary day today, I'm loving the fall! It's been cool, although a little too cold at times, but the colours sure have been beautiful. Now it's time for Katie and her I live, I love, I craft, I am me ... scavenger photo hunt.

The words for October are...

Sweet treat...
When the Gmen played football in high school, I used to make these mini pumpkin donuts for the team. Twelve dozen, every week for the season. Guess what Gman2 has asked for when he comes home for Nathan's birthday next month?!

Starts with a W...
Waterfall! Niagara Falls, Canadian side specifically.
We went to Canada to celebrate my 50th birthday several years ago and this was our first stop. Beautiful and VERY loud!

Reading now...
I started reading this when dear Tina gave this to me earlier in the year when she and Connie came over for a lunch visit. Sadly, I put it aside and haven't finished it yet! It is written by her Dad, about the radio ministry he started with his brother, which is 95.1 SHINE-FM, the radio station I listen to and volunteer at when I can.

Hobby/crafting...
Here's where the crafting starts, and sometimes finishes! In the midst of making masks and trying to frame long finished cross stitching, it can get busy in there.

This is a piece I finally framed, although I'm not really sure I like it. I might have to switch it out later for a bigger frame and add a mat or two.

Something Purple...
Whenever I think of purple I think of Lexi, it was her favourite colour. I've known Petr since we were in kindergarten, and Lexi was his precious daughter who died of cancer when she was eight. Every year they have a fundraiser, Laps for Lexi, where there is LOTS of purple!

My own choice...
Ahh, roasted PEEPS on the fire, yummy goodness!!
Sadly there are no Halloween PEEPS this year due to Covid19, but there's always next year. They will have them at Easter though!

I realized I never finished reading and commenting on last month's hunt, so I'll be catching up on them when reading this one.
Please note, I try and respond to each comment but I can't when there's no email with your account. I do appreciate them though!
Until next month, Happy Halloween if you're a big kid like me!

Fun in the Fall, so far!

Karen, Nathan and I went to the Pottery Stop before school started and painted these pieces.

This was the end result, what fun!

Gman2 asked me to make this for his friend, who I'm guessing likes Godzilla.

Laps for Lexi was a huge success...

Look what they raised for Children's Hospital and the scholarship fund at school!

Getting spooky for Halloween.

I think our ghosts are actually deflating dying, I had to "amputate" an arm to keep them up!
Is it just me or does the pumpkin look a like the Kool-Aid Man?!

The latest Harvest Moon, loving it!

Hopefully more adventures this weekend...

TH Thursday

The late edition of Thankful Thursday!

Laps for Lexi is tomorrow, which is the last day of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This is a special event for me because it's for a daughter of a friend I grew up with. She died at age eight from liver cancer. This event raises money for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's National Medical Center and the Lexi Speight Scholarship fund at SSFS. Every year it gets bigger and bigger, what a wonderful thing out of something so sad.
It doesn't matter how much time goes by, her family and friends still think of her, miss her, and love her dearly. So as Petr says, "Today hug your child a little tighter, tell them 'I love you' a few more times and even embrace the not so good moments. Take it from me, you will cherish EVERY moment as they grow up."
And what he ALWAYS says, "Hug your kids every day because you just never know."

So as sad as this day will be, they have made it into a wonderful event to help donate money to help those children with cancer.
This year Gman2 will be joining us and will actually run the 5K! I'll be happy to walk the mile with DH, Nathan, and friends!

And here's Lexi's friend, Davison and his sister, Madison, with their song, Forever and Always. It was written for Lexi and can be purchased on itunes.

What event or charity are you thankful for?
