February's IHSW

Since I wasn't able to participate last month, here I am just a little late for February.

Friday afternoon I picked up my nieces so we could celebrate Christmas and their birthdays. Just a little belated, but that's how we roll.

Saturday morning I took the girls to have their nails done as their Christmas present, all three wanted gel - not spoiled much! I told them next year we're all getting henna tattoos!
The afternoon brought snow, such a pretty view from my craft room.

Sunday evening we dressed up and went to the Melting Pot for fondue to celebrate their 14th birthdays.

They wanted a goofy picture, they got it!

So even though this weekend was busy, I was able to take some time to stitch and almost finish my Welsh Dragon. I was making it for myself, but I think I'll give it to my Dad for St. David's Day instead. I do want to make myself a smaller one though.

Hopefully I'll be on time for next month.

A little bit of Hermitting and an Anniversary

Since the gmen had off on Friday, I thought it was a good idea to have them help me clean out the garage.  They weren't too happy about it, but it had to be done.
And guess who these shoes belong to?  I'll claim two pairs of hiking boots that the boys have outgrown, otherwise, it's all theirs!

In between cleaning, soccer and football, I managed to finish my February Garden Journal.  Of course I changed it up a bit, but at least this time it wasn't due to my mistakes!

Here's January, I forgot to post this one finished.

And tomorrow, I'm off to my LNS to get my supplies for March and April.  As a special treat, I get to meet DJ for breakfast!

Today was our 18th wedding anniversary. Phew, we made it anther year!  Flowers and dinner, I was a happy girl.. and the night is young!  ;)

Hermitting and WIPocalypse - just a little late

Another hermitting weekend started with a concert!  This time it was JJ Weeks Band, Hawk Nelson and MercyMe.  They were all great and I even bought a JJ Weeks Band cd since I hadn't heard of them before.  I'm loving these concerts!  Of course, DJ and family came, my MIL and our newest concert clan member, Teresa.  I wonder who we'll see next...
We had a rather unpleasant situation arise while we were there - DJ, mil and I decided to check out the merchandise that was being sold in the main area during one of the bands playing.  Not a problem until we came back to find two women in our seats.  DJ's son tried to tell them someone was sitting there but one of the women insisted that she doesn't believe in saving seats in church.  Um, what?!!!  Just because you came late, you think you can sit wherever you want?  Does that mean you can't even use the restroom in fear of losing your seat?!  Well, her friend left but this woman refused to move.  Luckily, there was enough room for us, but my mil was NOT happy!  Long story short - she ended up leaving and during intermission the people around us told us how rude she was and how she wouldn't listen to DJ's son.  Then I saw them head to the front - I hope no one left their seat to use the restroom!

So I didn't get a lot of stitching in last weekend, but I'm so close to finishing this!  I've been working on some smaller projects but can't show them because they're for next weekend.

I know I have other WIPs I should be working on, but that would mean I'd have to find them first.

Loving the full moon!

Too Busy to Hermit and SHINE on!

So close, but not quite done.  Between a birthday party, an amazing concert, and doing stuff around the house, I didn't get to hermit as much as I wanted to.

On Saturday afternoon, I headed out to see Casting Crowns with DJ, Teresa and DJ's menfolk.  It was an hour away, but a straight shot so it wasn't too bad.  (Thanks for driving, DJ!)  Wow, amazing, awesome, they are wonderful!  I really liked that it was at a church, and not a huge concert arena like before - it was so much more personal!

And even though this wasn't this past weekend, I also went to the 3 in 1 Tour, featuring Brandon Heath, Mandisa and Laura Story.  Another amazing church concert, these are the best!

Where do I hear these wonderful groups?  On my local radio station, 95.1 SHINE FM.  You can listen live, RIGHT HERE!!!
They are doing a Sharathon at the moment, "Partnering with us makes you a part of the community of listeners and businesses helping us to share the life-changes message of God's love with the Baltimore area and beyond."

So guess what I'm doing from 6-9am tomorrow morning?  Helping out in their phone center!  That was the only time I could make work, even though I'm totally NOT a morning person.  That's okay, it will be worth it!

Hermitting in the Snow

Well, not really IN the snow, but I was looking at it the whole weekend!

We came to the lake this weekend since the boys had a half day Thursday, and no school Friday and Monday.  We had friends join us and had a great weekend.  Relaxing, sledding, gaming, movie watching, talking, entertaining ice sculpting, and oh yes, even some stitching!

Nathan loved the frozen cantaloupe ice bowling, even if he didn't get a strike.

I think I took a picture of every ice sculpture there, but he was still carving them as we were leaving.  I love the expression on the kids faces as they were watching.

More outdoor fun, but too cold and windy for me on Sunday!

This is what I like to see, men cleaning in the kitchen!

Boys watching Star Wars.

Reading time with Shana.

And hey, I actually did some stitching this hermitting weekend!  Still not as far as DJ on our One Nation SAL, but it's coming.

Hermitting Weekend at the Lake

Nathan had a half day last Friday and all the boys had off Monday AND Tuesday, so we took advantage of it and headed to the lake.  It was cold and super windy, so we pretty much relaxed in the house and I was actually able to stitch.  But not as much as I would have liked to, with the Grow Your Blog Party going on!  Not that I'm complaining, because I've met a lot more friends - hello new following friends!  I know I have a lot of catching up to do on my blog reading, so everyone please stop posting until I do!  ;)

Another beautiful, but cold and windy evening

This is what I was able to do - a little here, a little there!
Parsley's Poopy Pattern curse hasn't appeared, thank goodness.  Does having a stinky litter box count?!
I changed his eyes, I thought it looked like he was wearing glasses in the photo!

We actually left the lake on Sunday, and the boys and I headed to my parents on the way home to stay until Tuesday - that's my next post.  I'm hoping my Dad will do his guest blogger bit!

October TUSAL and Hermitting

Not too much to add, I've been working slowing on my TOT Fairy.

Hermitting this past weekend was a little difficult.  The boys and I went to visit my parents in western MD to celebrate Dad's belated birthday and to see the beautiful fall colours.  This took up most of our time...
Maryland and USA flag
Just walked ran across the bridge
Cemetery outside Cumberland
Ghoul in the woods!
That's what you have to wear for a rum cake
Sweet Halloween Treats!
Making friends
Colours of Cumberland
The Narrows (Lover's Leap)
Oma's chapel
Love my Mama!
What is it with boys and fire?
Roasting ghosts!

Saying goodbye to Oma
Bye, Opa
Last pic on our way home

I might have an additional post about our weekend tomorrow, my Dad wrote to his friends about it and told them he couldn't believe everything we did!
