Moon...

The moon is described as the natural satellite of the earth, visible (chiefly at night) by reflected light from the sun.

Ah, the moon, one of my favourite things to look at and take photos of. There was no way I could pick just one, so get ready for the parade.

This was taken at Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland, at a friend's summer party. This bear looks like he's having fun!

This was two years ago during a December getaway in Pennsylvania.

I have no idea when this was taken, probably at home.

That speck is the moon at Deep Creek again, this time at the family house.

This was taken in Dubai when I was lucky enough to go with my DH for a work event in 2015, we considered it our 20th anniversary celebration.

This was taken at a house we rented at Topsail Beach in North Carolina. The house was named Moondance, how appropriate!

I have no idea where this was taken, maybe our house?

I went to see the New Orleans Saints beat the Baltimore Ravens in 2018, it was a beautiful night for the moon to be out. This was taken as it was next to the scoreboard.

Friday's Stitching Ground 🧡

Happy October! 🍁🎃🍂🧡

Oh, that beautiful moon! Now I didn't see it this clearly from where I was sitting, but my camera helped.

This was my stitching spot this evening and I was enjoying a couple Downeast Pumpkin Blend Ciders, it's my new favourite drink!

Tonight's stitching is brought to you by Wentworth, Season 8. It's a Australian prison drama and this is the latest season. I had to watch the last episode of season 7 to remember what the heck was going on!

As for stitching, I'm trying to get this Welsh Santa finished in time for my Dad's birthday next Tuesday, I think I can do it.

I have received some cards for my Dad for his 80th birthday, thanks to those who sent them! I was also thinking emails might be nice too. I'd say send them to him directly, but it might go to his spam and I'm not sure he checks that regularly. If you're interested, please just send it to me and I can forward it, or maybe print it out for him.

Does anyone have a good sugar free/diabetic recipe for a cake? I want to make my Dad one, but I would like it to be one that someone has actually made and LIKED!

Well this will be a May to remember. Thankfully things are starting to open up, slowly sounds good to me. Thank goodness Katie didn't close, here's her I live, I love, I craft, I am me ... scavenger photo hunt.

This was taken through the cat house tunnel, they don't go in there very often.

Star...
Nathan made this in his art class at school last year. I really should frame it and put it in my craft room.

Square...
I stitched this for my Mom one Mother's Day, this square was made into a cube.

Splat...
Sweet Chewie has a cool splat on his chest.

DH said it looks like a Yeti so we should have named Chewie, Cheti - we'll just go with Yeti as his middle name.

Triangle...
And hey, Ming and Maximus get their photo shown too. Here are four triangles, their cute little ears.

My Own Choice...
This is our neighbour's cat, Harley, who likes to come visit our two and show off that he's allowed outdoors! This was taken through the glass in our front door and is actually a diamond shape.

Well, it sure has sure been a looong April! But that means it's time for Katie's I live, I love, I craft, I am me ... scavenger photo hunt last month.

Happiness is...
Yes, more hearts from Ming and Maximus. These two are such snuggle buddies and luckily they love to snuggle with us too.

Makes me smile...
The Easter baked goods I picked up from Kupcakes & Co. Such delicious treats, they put a smile on all of our faces!

Relaxing with...
A lovely evening with our neighbours by the fire pit, and the moon! No worries, social distance was observed.

Busy with...
Putting together masks for the family. Not quite good enough to be given away though!

Positive about...
Pondering about the future, it can only get better from here?! 

My own choice
Our beautiful azaleas along the driveway, only a few are slow bloomers.

Quite honestly, most of these photos can be interchanged with the words for April. It was hard to choose where to place them!

I hope you are all doing well these days, we're taking it one day at a time and just trying to keep healthy.

A Sweet Surprise 🌵 and JOY!

I had a very sweet surprise earlier this week...

the Astrid the Cactus pattern found it's way to my inbox!

My namesake was gifted to me by a very special RAK friend. Such a thoughtful gesture and as she said, "there can't be many things named after you!"
I think when I stitch her I'll have to include our name.
So thanks again, my dear RAK friend, perfect timing for what's going on in the world at the moment.


And because of that, I've decided the rest of this post will show JOY from this month, because that's what I'm choosing!


Every time I call my parents via their Alexa Echo Spot, Addie goes crazy because she knows it's me calling. Or in this case, Ming! And if I call on the house phone and they put me on speaker, she starts whining and licking the phone, I think she misses me.

Well, maybe breakfast, but it is pasta! Spike and Scotch left this for Nathan to have and for some reason he wasn't hungry. 😖

Although is it really a fight if they're not together and physically fighting?! This is our neighbour cat, Harley, who likes to tease our cats by showing off his freedom.

I thought Ming was lost until I found her with the Odie collection in my craft room.

We have a teenager in the house! 😮

Here's the birthday boy, Nathan, just a little cold without his jacket! He had a sleepover the night before, but I'm really beginning to wonder if they actually slept - they woke me up at 5am with yelling!

After his last baseball game of the season, we went to an early dinner to celebrate. Gman1 and C were at the game too and were able to join us.

Unfortunately, Gman2 was unable to join us. Something about being in Rome?! He's having a great time "studying" in Austria, with side trips all over.

 Ah yes, the treasured birthday gift!

He wasted no time in putting it together.

And here it is, finished, but not totally together as advertised... every time he actually put them together with the trees, parts of it would fall apart. Frustration, tears, anger, the whole teenage lot! I suggested he look on the Lego website to see what others had said or if there was a solution. No luck, others were having the same problem with glue being the only solution. Let's just say they didn't get a very good review from him!

At least the character are cool.

So I was looking at some Stranger Things cross stitch patterns, and I think I like these the best so far. But would it be for Nathan, or me?
