Still having fun in Oct and Nov!🍂

In October, we headed to West Virginia to the M's family house. We've been invited for years and we finally were able to make it happen!

On our way to WV, passing by Harpers Ferry. (I'll be there this weekend!)

I had company while stitching, although it was only for one evening.

You really need to watch where you're going there, it looks like there's trouble all over.

We had a great time with this wonderful family, more news to come...

Nathan was a little hesitant with the dogs, but they were such sweethearts.

Back at home, the weather had been beautiful enough to stitch outside and I enjoyed it as long as I could.

And then poof, it's Nathan's birthday and he's 16!

And he only had a tiny bit of chocolate on his mouth this year.

Lots of celebrating when you're 16!

Oct and Nov were spent with friends and also Nathan's band concert.

I had a small finish, but not fully finished yet.

A "work" trip for DH that I was able to attend, we considered this our 20th Wedding Anniversary celebration.

Looking down at Ming and Maximus this week as they sat and enjoyed the morning sun in my craft room window sill.

Oh my, no stitching, new or old, to show?! No worries, I do have some things to show that a friend was kind enough to give me since she's not stitching anymore.

Friday's Stitching Ground 🧟‍♂️

Today I was actually stitching something else, but I can't show it yet! But tonight I thought I would start adding to the outside of the house.

I did finish Dr. Frankenstein and his monster this week, I like how he turned out.

This evening I'm enjoying this tasty treat, good thing we have another kind of stash here!

This week I've been walking every day with Nathan and his friend, M - they are our one family that we are associating with during this time. It keeps the boys busy outside, they get their exercise riding a scooter and skateboard, and I get my walking in! Today DH joined us since he was off work and these were our sights.
I chose beauty today.

Have you been able to go outside and get some fresh air? Hopefully the weather is nice enough for you to enjoy it.

Scavenger Photo Hunt, February 📷

Thanks to Julie, I decided to join in on I live, I love, I craft, I am me ... scavenger photo hunt.

The words for February are...

Sound/hear
As tree limbs were breaking off all around me from the ice, this one snapped off right after took a photo of the tree.

Smell/scent
This is a new flavour to me, orange/vanilla, and it smells wonderful! Gotta love the creamsicle.

Feel/touch
Nathan was feeling the cold when he wrote this on our trash can lid while we were waiting for the school bus.

Taste
The awesome taste of cranberries in the beer my DH brewed at my request.

Sight/see
In spite of it being winter, our hibiscus has been blooming almost nonstop since coming indoors.

My own choice

Our kitty cat paws in the snow, they didn't like it very much.

Snow much fun! ❆ ☃

Last Sunday, four inches of snow turned into just under ten inches at our house... snow day for Nathan on Monday!
There was a wide range in our area, in one direction it was as high as 13", and then as low as 5" the other direction.

I love watching it snow, it makes everything look so pretty. The hibiscus must like it too because it started blooming.
This was my stitching view while in the front room.

No more ugly winter trees.

I guess the snow was a little heavy, or our snowman was snow drunk and passed out!

As it melted, it looks like we had snow snakes, or worms.

And finally, a finish for this little guy, Flurry, from the Mill Hill Snowbells.
I tried using Wisper for the pom-pom on the hat, but it didn't fluff up very much. I also added the little bell.

Although we're under a winter weather advisory today, it's more likely to be sleet and freezing rain than snow. Then winds and flash freezing on Sunday. Darn, I wanted more snow! But after last weekend, who knows what to expect. I'm sure it's changed already!

Halloween has Gone to the Dogs!

This Halloween Nathan didn't want to go Trick or Treating, he wanted to hand out candy instead. We couldn't do it at our house since we don't get any kids, so we went to the doghouse... Karen's new house! Although he did wear a skeleton shirt and cap, so he sort of dressed up.

And Karen's babies were ready for action!

Not too many kids came to her house, a little disappointing but we still had fun.

November 1st was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy the colours that finally decided to come out.

Oh boy, DH's favourite... leaves!

In stitching news, I'm almost done with this one! After changing some of the pumpkin colours, now I'm going to change the bottom. I don't really care for the checkered part, but I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do instead. Maybe grassy or pumpkin patchy (is there such a thing?!) Any ideas?

St. Michaels Fun! 🐳

It was that time of year last month, the annual St. Michaels stitching retreat with the girls! 

Alice and I got there a little early so we were able to do a some shopping... 

Ah, my favourite mermaid shop!

Fun sculptures and who knew, an glassware shop!
(I didn't notice it until I looked at it later)

It stopped raining for a bit and the sun came out for a tease.

And now for the fun stuff! This year we did a patriotic exchange and this is what the other ladies made. They are all amazing!

This is what I opened, isn't it fantastic? It's a project bag, made by Wendy, but I'm displaying it because I don't want it messed up. And the strawberry is adorable!

This is what I made.
It's Paws and Stripes Furever from Stitchy Kitty, I just added some fireworks.

It's a wooden box that I painted and then decoupaged. The "ribbons" on top are from a pen I found at a dollar store. I like the way it turned out and I think I'll be doing it again.

These were the goodies from the White Elephant game. My first one was DJ's biscornu, and it was ripped from my hands stolen!

So I opened the last gift and this is what it was. Pat made it, I love it! And luckily it wasn't stolen!

I worked on this while I was there. I designed it, but I need to redo some of the stars because I don't like the way some of them look.

I also worked on these little guys from Joyful World by The Snowflower Diaries.

When I got home, I decided to play with the ground.

And came out with this colourful piece.
Now I need to figure out October.

This is what I found while shopping in St. Michaels, it was only $25! A previous display case, it only needs a touch up here and there, I'll get a light to put in the back, and it's been Ming approved.
Is it too early to start decorating for Halloween?!



I left early on Sunday to celebrate an anniversary with this guy, 23 years and counting!
