Halloween

For this one, I think I'll go with Halloween decorations, and not just mine!

This lovely couple was in the restaurant I was in last week when I took my Dad out for breakfast.

I've got my eye on you! In historic Ellicott City last weekend celebrating my gf's 50th birthday.

I LOVE their Halloween town on display.

If only they weren't so expensive.

How much fun is this?! I wonder if DH would let me do that to our fence?

Fall

Fall Ball Baseball!

Although this year the shirts aren't showing Fall Baseball on it.

Can you tell Nathan's have a good time?!

My favourite time of year, fall and all those beautiful colours!

A fallen top of the loaf of bread I made from DH's spent grains after his brewing.

A fallen tree from our neighbour's yard after a storm this summer, luckily it missed our house.

A fallen fence caused by the tornado that hit in Annapolis in my friend's neighbourhood. Thankfully it missed her house!

I know this is a repeat from school, but it works.

I added the falling leaves and the leaves on the bottom of this Joyful World piece.

I didn't stitch this Mill Hill, but I want to!

Scavenger Photo Hunt - School 📷 🏫

Welcome to the first word of the Scavenger Photo Hunt for September. As always, anyone can join in with whatever inspires you and I can always add it after the sign up is closed. It was Labour Day weekend for us, so I'm way late in posting.

This week's word is -

School

This photo is of my Dad in 1955, in Braintree, Essex. He's standing in front of the school his Father taught in.

My brother at 16, at boarding school, Grenville College.

School means homework! This was in our old house and the Gmen's study space.

Awe, Nathan's turn to go to school.

Then onto kindergarten! Can you tell he was excited to go?

This is a yearly Laps for Lexi event that we attend at Sandy Spring Friends School, and will be doing it this month. You can read more about it here. This also applies to school since this is for a friend I went to elementary school with and some of our other school friends join in too.

School means High School Football! Too bad Nathan isn't interested in football like his big brothers.

It also means Mom got to wear school spirit wear!

School is also Vacation Bible School. I miss those days!

I think the only school stitching I have is the little red schoolhouse with the apple in the corner.

There are things I've stitched for teachers, but can't remember them all!

Scavenger Photo Hunt - July 📷🌳

Welcome to the third word of the Scavenger Photo Hunt for July. As always, anyone can join in with whatever inspires you and I can always add it after the sign up is closed. And here I am, late again!

This week's word is -

Picnic

Way back when photo taken by my Dad of my Godparents who were visiting from Essex.

This was one of our pit stops when he would take our visitors to Shenandoah National Park. Although we would always bring our own picnic supplies.

I'm not sure where we were going, maybe the mountians, or the beach, but the picnic stop always included tea!

The Gmen when they were in Cub Scouts, enjoying their grilled cheese sandwiches.

What's a picnic without a cupcake?! Nathan was enjoying this one at a class picnic.

My nieces and Nathan having a pizza picnic in the enclosed porch, complete with a Disney movie I think.

This is the only "picnic" piece I can remember stitching, at least the lower corner of it!

An oldie, but a goodie - Cottage Garden Sampling, My Garden Journal. I just wished I had stitched it smaller.

And here's this little cutie from The Snowflower Diaries, Joyful World. The series is still out there as a freebie if you're interested.

I made this for my Momma, it came from Hobby Lobby.

After the last one, I got stung by the bee and got this one to stitch from Little House Needleworks.

Then I saw this one from Hinzeit and had to get it! I changed the banner colour, I thought the original was too bland for my liking.

And thanks to Jo stitching this one, Gathering Honey, I started it but have yet to finish. I haven't made it to be bees yet, but the hive is there, they must still be inside!

This is another one I still need to finish, Celebrate Summer by The Sweetheart Tree.

Here's one I have, but haven't started yet.

These are Nora Corbett's Miss Honey Bee and Miss Queen Bee, they were model stitched by Melanie the WIP Slayer. Aren't they gorgeous?! I can't decide which one I'd rather stitch... or maybe both? I'm thinking of using the honeycomb fabric when I do.
