I decided I needed a break from The Haunted Mansion, so I went in a totally different direction... sort of, not really?!
Still Halloween, but instead of 32 over 1, I went for 18 (I think) over 2.
BIG difference!

This was an easy one to pick up, it was on a freebie table at one of the retreats I went to last year and it was partially started - the grey pumpkin, cat, and part of the purple pumpkin had already been stitched, AND it was stitched in the same direction I stitch in, BONUS! I'm thinking of stitching it again with different colours and a smaller count, we'll see.
And while I'm stitching, Ming is keeping a careful watch on Chewie as he "innocently" sits next to her.
While Maximus sneaks away to our bedroom for safety.

Chewie looks delightful and I love his name.
The new Halloween piece is really cute. Your cats' personalities are definitely showing.
I just love the witch hat design! Do you think your animal crew will ever be friends?
How neat to find a freebie already started for you! I stitch top left to bottom right and then top right to bottom left. I find it interesting that everyone doesn't do it that way as you read from left to right. I hope your animal family becomes one big happy family soon!
A very fun finish, and those are some great photos of the furbabies. :)
I imagine you felt as though you were stitching giant-sized when you started working with the bigger gauge. I know I find that with knitting when I make a switch between sock yarn and worsted.
What a cute Witch's Hat! You finished it off really quickly too. It might be cute in purple, orange and green too.
Now if you could only get Ming to convince Max that Chewie is "ok" so they could all get along. Are Ming and Maximus the same age?
Cute pattern Astrid. The critters will eventually get along.

Love the new project, is that 18 count linen?
I stitched a couple of projects that were the other way round to the way I stitch. Some Round Robins and one my Mum started. The trick is to rotate the fabric and chart by 90 degrees.
Chewie is gorgeous - is he a new addition? (I've missed some posts recently!). I imagine he and the cats will find their groove eventually. When I was younger, my cat put the new puppy in her place a few times with a few swipes to her nose and then they got along great.
That is such a difference in stitching size! What a great freebie to pick up x
I just love Chewie. Adorable. Hope the kitties put up with him better soon. Love your new piece. Sometimes those "big" counts are a blast to stitch on. Especially when working on a tiny piece.
