TH Thursday...

THinking, THinking, THinking...

THinking THoughts, and being THankful on THursdays.

What technology are you grateful for?
I could generalize - computer or phone - but I'm going to be more specific and say texting.
Years ago before I had a smart phone, I didn't get the texting thing. I would rant, "Just call, why do you need to text?!"
Hello smart phone and hello texting! I love that if I'm thinking of a friend or family member and really don't have time to talk, I can send a text and let them know I'm thinking of them. I can send an "I love you" to my DH privately. I can check on my boys anytime (and they know they'd better answer me!) Nathan doesn't have a phone so he's lucky enough to hear me yell for him.

So what would you say is your tech gadget you're grateful for?

Ohmigoodness, I said that to my kids about a bazillion times, LOL. Ten years (15?) later, and I don't know what I'd do without texting.

I'm grateful for digital cameras, either the actual camera or the one on my cell phone - love being able to take as many pictures as I think I need and (a) being able to see right away if they came out well, and (b) being able to delete all the bad ones. No more film to drop off, waitwaitwait, pick up ... and disappointment because that once in a lifetime image is impossibly blurry.

My CPAP machine - even with sleep apnea I can get a good night's sleep.

I am so into my library's audio books through the digital library/OverDrive. Can't beat free! I love to read.

Hmm, good question, smartphones are very useful, maybe our wi-fi cameras at work that helped us get a shoplifter arrested?

Good question. I can't pick just one though. My smartphone. I never wanted one. Now I can't imagine living without it haha. It's a small computer in my hand whenever I need one. I totally agree with Deb's comment though. My digital camera. I can take 7,000 pictures with my current memory card. Or videos. I love it! I use it every vacation and take photos of EVERYTHING. Like she said if it doesn't come out you can delete it. But I LOVE looking back on what I saw or grabbed a picture of.

I think my favorite tech gadget would have to be my Kindle. It does so many things - holds a little library of books, acts as an online device, shows me my e-mails, and so much more. I do like my phone and camera as well.

Not a tech "gadget" exactly, but I am ever SO grateful for the Skype and Facetime apps. When our son was studying overseas for a year, it was a lifesaver, and, from a mom's point of view, it was also a sanity-saver. As long as I could see him face to face, I could assure myself that the distance was not so far as it seemed. :)

As much as I don't like people being glued to their phones, I love that I can be connected to my kids either through a text message or a call at any time. And it's convenient to have the ability to take pictures. I also have to include my iPad for all of the books I can store on it. : )

I think my favorite tech gadget it my ipad, and the ability to take pictures, read email, watch netflix, and get online to read blogs or search for things, facebook and all the books I have stashed on there along with cross stitch patterns. I'd be lost without it now! (Shame on me, I do text, but I don't keep my phone with me at all times...I'm baaaaad friend sometimes). I'm one of the old school folks who say...why don't they just call?

My smartphone hands down - I use it to catch up with blogging and emails on my way to/from work and if I'm feeling stressed my blog is right there at my fingertips so I can browse through my stash!

I'm not really a techy person, but my phone is good for getting a whattsapp pic and chat with my brother who lives some distance away, he often sends me a quick pic of something he wants to share.

I hardly text at all these days! But I am torn between my digital camera and my iPad. I do love both of them. I got a camera for my 16th Birthday and have loved taking snaps every since then. But my iPad is so versatile and the reason I don't text anymore. I email everyone or pm them on Facebook for free!
