TH Thursday

THinking, THinking, THinking...

THinking THoughts, and being THankful on THursdays.

Today I am thankful for the support of friends - not for me, but for another.

If you haven't seen this yet, where have you been?!

This quilt was made for Danielle Jones, aka Stitcherista, who is being treated for breast cancer. She lives near me and we've met at the Stitching Post and had lunch several times - our group includes Jill, DJ, and Denise.

This quilt idea was started by Laura Johnson Ellis, stitched by many wonderful people, and quilted by Cindi Jackson. What a group effort!
And if you know Danielle, you'd know this is totally her.

Cindi Jackson's photo on fb.

I stitched the Oriole bird - sometimes while watching Nathan play baseball in the spring.

The cats kept me company many times.

I almost made the Ravens bird too, but just couldn't do it!

So I am thankful for a community that cares, and in this case, it's the stitching community.

Danielle is on flosstube if you want to see her reaction to opening it, it should be this one. Jill recorded her opening it when she gave it to her on Saturday.

wOw! I am a person who knew nothing of any of this. ;) I do not do flosstube! I don't have the time, sorry! But I made time for the one you posted today. I am glad I did. What a great person and a great quilt and this was wonderful. ♥

Yup--saw it and loved it! It made me remember when I was gifted a special quilt from a gal at work... Yes, tears were shed, then and now! I watch Flosstube all the time, but never comment because it is thru the t.v. and I don't know exactly how... YET! Your Oriole was very cute on the quilt! All the pieces were wonderful! Thanks for sharing! Hugs!

Very sweet and special! I love the stitching and quilting communities that I am becoming more and more familiar with. I have made so many friends and would love to work on something like this for a friend. Thanks for sharing!

Such a wonderful and thoughtful gift for Danielle. I follow her videos on floss tube when I find the time. She is an amazing woman and this quilt for her is just as amazing. Great job from all of you.

I watched the video when Jill gave her the quilt - I expected her to scream in her usual way but she was struck speechless! It is an awesome thing to make for someone and I know she will treasure this forever.
