Friday's Stitching Ground ๐Ÿง›‍♂️

Ah, my stitching view this evening, sitting with my lovely sister-in-law! They came late Thursday evening from Baton Rouge to attend a funeral mass in DC for a friend of theirs. They were actually supposed to be at my parents this evening, but meeting up with old friends had them coming home late and rather than driving two+ hours to get there, they are here another night. We're not complaining and love spending time with them!

So here's my spot, with Ming keeping me company.

I'm still working on The Haunted Mansion, this roof sure is taking it's time being constructed! I'm still enjoying almost every stitch and still haven't been tempted enough to work on anything else.

Do you have family close by you, or do you have to wait for special times to see them like we do with my brother and family?

How lovely to have family visit! We have one son (and family) living about 2 hours away from us but we rarely see them because he works ridiculous hours as a chef and our other son and his family live over 4000 km away. We flew out to see them in September and they are flying here the end of May...can't wait! We'll get to meet our new baby grandson.

Love your Haunted Mansion Astrid. You're very lucky. I have no family except DH.

Haunted Mansion is really growing now, well done!
My family are quite nearby and they were going to visit tomorrow, but there is a storm with 70 mph winds forecast for tonight and tomorrow so we won’t see them this week. Maybe it’ll be a good excuse for some stitching! ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ’•

Great work on your roof!
Our parents live close by so we see them quite often, my brother works long hours so we don't see him so much. My sister is scared she will never be able to leave if she comes back here for too long so we see her in December, before Christmas. Since the nieces and nephews on my husband's side of the family stating producing small ones of their own we don't have the whole family get-togethers any more.

I love the colours in the roof. I have family about an hour away (my dad and 2 sisters) but we still only see them 3 or 4 times a year with everyone’s busy lives. My husband’s family lives about 1300KM/13 hours away. They live in New Brunswick, which is on the east coast and we live in Ontario which is in the middle of Canada. We see his mom usually every other year and haven’t seen his brother or sisters for about 15 years.

I'm loving your Haunted Mansion. I have family scattered across the United States, a brother and sister in Phoenix, AZ, a sister in northern California (about 13 hours away) and a sister in the process of moving from Michigan to Florida. Fortunately, my daughter and granddaughter are only about 20 minutes away.

I am actually going to see my sister in Indiana soon. Can't wait. It has been almost 2 years. The Haunted Mansion is so cute. Worth the work!

I have lived here in Wisconsin my whole life. I live the "furthest" away, and I am 20 minutes from my Mom and siblings. :) I am so thankful to God we remain a close family.

Lovely visit. Since it's winter we aren't getting to visit with my dad as much. We are going down on the 21st and he is really looking forward to it. Haven't seen him since Jan 19th so he is sad about that. But the weekend of the 21st and the weekend after we are spending the weekends together so he'll be better haha. Great work on your haunted house.

Looks like you are having a lovely stitchy time with your SIL. Haunted Mansion is coming along beautifully. My sisters and my DD live in Melbourne nearby but my two sons live far away - DS1 and DDIL live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and DS2 and his girlfriend live in Sydney. So, yes, I do know about special times with family.
