I found some treasures from the sales at the church picnic last month and had to save them!
This was so sweet, but a little dirty/moldy on the edges of the frame.
I took it apart and this is what the back looked like. Not impressed!
I decided to fix it up a bit and took out the personalization ๐, and added beads for the eyes and nose so you could see the Santas better.
I bought this for $.50, so sad really.
I'm cleaning up the glass and frame and will be re-framing it.
I bought this cutie for $3, big spender!
I saw this and thought it looked familiar... I made it for one of Nathan's teachers in 2015!
Oh well, I bought if for a quarter and it will hang on my homemade Christmas ornament tree.
This is the second time I've found something I made there. At least they were small and I got them back. I think I'll stick to gift cards from now on!

I like the way you fixed up the Santas. I am sad that you found one of your ornaments. Yes, I recall you finding one of your pieces before. :( I am glad you got them back. I like the big bunny piece. So sweet!
Awesome finds Astrid. How sad that someone would get rid of a handmade gift. Glad you got it back. The Santa's are looking great.

There's always some sadness I feel finding handmade things at rummage/garage sales at such low prices when I think of all the time that the person that made them put into it. But we create not really to be paid back for our time, but to be rewarded with that calm and sense of accomplishment that it brings us to create.
I use to love rummage sales when I was young. To find things at a low price and that were like your Santa would have been a treasure to me then. Not much cash back then, and I couldn't afford the items I would have loved to have had, but that were out of my price range. The church rummage sale was a success long ago for all kinds of great finds. Just putting it out here that I was thankful pretty items I could afford to buy. I guess it all is how you view it.
Great job on saving Santa! He looks much better now. Sad you found your own stuff at the sale but thankfully it is now is great hands!!
Oh the fix you did on the Santa's is perfect. Love the bunny. I'm so mad about the piece you stitched. It's beautiful. I can't believe someone would just give it away. I'm glad you got it back home safe and sound.
The Santa piece looks great all fixed up.
The teacher could have donated somewhere further away! I'm glad that you've got it back though and they don't deserve a giftvoucher either.
And here is the #1 reason why I really don't like stitching for other people (stitchers don't count, they know haha). I see too many finished pieces in thrift stores. I get that tastes change but ugh! Someone put so much time into that! Although... having worked in thrift stores before, I also know that sometimes the recipient or stitcher passes on. At least they're not thrown away! But to find one of your own...... I like the little Santa piece. That will be cute to sit out for the holiday!
I like how you are fixing up the Santas - the eyes do look great on them. How odd/sad that you have found something you have made there. At least you will get some more enjoyment from it now x
Glad you found some treasures. I love the way you fixed the Santas. They look much better. I'm glad you got the gift back. That is sad, but it happens. Gift cards are a great idea.
Great bargains! And I wouldn't have been able to pass that Santa piece either!
Wow! You saved that cute holiday design!! So sorry about your ornament but at least you have it back. Some folks just don't have an eye for a lovely ornament!!
I always feel sad when I see lovely homemade gifts at sales. Yes, stitch to gift cards, it would prevent the hurt from seeing your work not appreciated. I'm glad you rescued the Santa, what a find for 50cents!
