I am thankful you still have your parents in your life Astrid. I am glad you can at least speak to one another. My father was extremely abusive and we all had to cut him off for decades. I always regret not reaching back out to him before he died alone.
Hi Astrid. Long time no see. I hope that you have learned the lessons you needed to learn. I believe everyone comes into our lives for a reason. They teach us something, or they love us and make us feel valued, or they show us the true meaning of friendship. Here's hoping you have lots of love in your life, to offset the negative stuff.
What a timely sentiment, Astrid, as, just moments ago, I had a difficult encounter with a chronically unhappy acquaintance. Thinking that this person has "shown me exactly who I do not want to be" has made me feel so much better about our encounter. So sorry you had to learn something like this from family. :(

Oh do I understand your pain. Family can be so painful. Hugs!

So sorry that you are having a hard time right now. You have an awesome family of boys who are a real credit to the person you have become.
Oh dear ... well, that's a lemons-to-lemonade way of looking at it. Very sorry that you're having trouble - it's always harder when it's family.
We all have those feelings at times.
