Friday's Stitching Ground 🛋

I finished my mom's Hummingbird for Mother's Day and posted it yesterday. Dad said it already came today, awesome! And I was worried it wouldn't get there in time.

Today brought me to the enclosed porch, before the rain showed up. I'm still working on the backstitching on Gathering Honey, it's so s..l..o..w! But since I'm not in a rush and have other projects I need to work on here and there, it's fine.

I had company, even though they weren't on my lap.

Do you have company when you stitch?

  1. Gathering Honey is looking good. Did I miss the humming bird finish?
My cat is always watching me stitch.

  2. Nice progress Astrid. Another spot I could see myself spending the day stitching. I too have a couple helpers when I stitch.

  3. You have such comfortable stitching spaces. I used to have cats keep me company while stitching, usually on the arm of my chair, but we haven't had cats for several years; it hurt too much when they moved on.

  4. Astrid: Sometimes the mail can be slow, you are so lucky your package arrived on time.
I love the Gathering Honey, I have this design in an old magazine and have looked at it several times trying to decide when I will stitch it, I am not a fan of back stitching and grumble when I have to do it.
I do have company when I stitch Blondie the cat tries to sit on my lap and the dog sits on my feet, I guess there is no getting away from it.

  5. Your wip is very pretty. I love your stitching buddies. My dog, Max passed away about a month ago. He sat with me while I stitched and I miss the companionship.

  7. Nice work on Gathering Honey. I don't so much have company as constant interruptions for snacks, drinks and songs!

  9. Gathering Honey is looking absolutely wonderful! And how lovely that your furbabies joined you on the porch.

My cats are often with me (and the way Lakota sheds 24/7/365, she makes sure I blend a very natural fiber into whatever I stitch), and sometimes try to crawl into the stitching bag.
