Colours too close!

I'm stitching this for an exchange, and these two colours are way too similar. It's hard to tell the difference between them when I stitched them together.

I thought I'd be smart and pulled out my guide, only to see the lighter colour is still 964, ugh. I wish I had looked earlier, I would have used 958 as the darker colour instead. I already frogged once and I'm not willing to frog all the 959. I even checked the newer colours that aren't in the guide and didn't find anything.

Suggestions? I'm thinking of blending 964 & 958, yah or nay?

  1. Okay, weird suggestion here (or it may not be - can't be sure since you can't show the design). Sounds like you might be willing to frog what you stitched of the lighter 964...? Is there any chance that you could reverse light/dark and stitch what's supposed to be 964 with the 959?

  2. That's a hard call. S it a pivotal piece of the design or part of the background? If it's part of the background, I might be more inclined to just keep stitching rather than frog, up if it's part of an important detail, you might want to frog it.
That's pretty much the on,u advice I can really give.

  3. The Mad Hatter that I'm working on now is like that. There are several shades of blue and you can hardly see a difference between like 3 of them. But I'm okay with that. You should do whatever feels right for you with the design.

  4. I like the idea of blending myself. I hate frogging and avoid it whenever possible!

  5. It's hard to say without seeing it, perhaps I should come over and get snowed in with you? I'll bring comfort food and leave the germs at home...what do you say? LOL!! Sometimes they have the colors that close because they only want a hint of a change. What if you blended the lighter green with white?

  6. Good luck deciding what to do. I'm no good with helping you out though. I would more than likely have to do it the way the chart says haha. I hardly ever change the colors.
