I'm on a roll, here's July!
I finished it earlier in the week, it helped having a couple snow days and no lunch duty!
I changed the colours again with what I had and I like it. I just had to search for substitutions...
My DMC floss is all nice and tidy, but my other threads are a mess! That will have to wait for another day.
Taking a stitching break, I made some paper hearts for my CS, Karen. She sent me paper and I also used some of mine. She's going to make a heart garland with them and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
So now I have all these leftovers and I'm hoping to be able to use them somehow to make Nathan's Valentine's cards for school. Any suggestions?
Nathan's been busy reading his Beano and Dandy books and he's even picked up some British slang, I love it! No more trash, it's rubbish now!
He's also been busy in scouts, making this great box which he has decided he's going to put his school papers in for me.
Yesterday he joined his den for the Klondike Derby. Way too cold for me, so it was a father/son day!
August has been started, with my helpers of course! Hopefully this will be another quick one.
Today I'm meeting DJ and Denise for lunch, then we're off to the Stitching Post for their Superbowl sale. I only need some thread that I ran out of, or at least that's my plan.
On a side note, I've been watching Grey's Anatomy from the beginning since I hadn't seen it before. This episode is where the cast sings and I can't stand it! I don't want to fast forward it because I don't want to miss anything, but I don't know how much more I can take!
Congrats on the cute finish Astrid. I see these charts being stitched all over blogland. Nathan's box looks great. Love the pic of your helpers.

Gorgeous July in January! I left all my over dyed floss on those cardboard things and put them all onto giant rings in alphabetical order. Tidy and saves bobbinating them!
ReplyDeleteLovely finish. My floss looks just like yours. lol
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I look forward to August. This is a great series.
ReplyDeleteYour July finish is great and I love the sentiment. There is a definite smell of summer, probably new mown grass?
ReplyDeleteLaughing at Nathan learning British from the Beano and Dandy! So many of our children talk American from watching the TV too much.
Such a cute finish. It just screams summer!
ReplyDeleteI love your finished project. I've been known to put all my houseplants in the sink and wet them down just to smell the summer smell of wet dirt. Not quite as appealing as flowers in bloom, but it can conjure up the memory of warm day after it rains. Maybe you can use the paper scraps as a stencil and spritz some paint or ink over them to get some pretty stenciled hearts.
ReplyDeleteUrgh I HATE that episode of Greys its just so uncomfortable to watch!
ReplyDeleteWell done on your finish, it is very pretty! :)
Pretty summer finish.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun father/son day in the snow with the scouts.
Hello! Great finish of July... I might be tempted to substitute colors too... appropriate to my region maybe... You can make reverse hearts with the leftovers... Glue them to small cards and write inside of them... just a thought! Hope the stashing visit was fun! Nathan's box is great, and I am sure will be cherished! Hugs!
ReplyDeletewonderful finish and great photos
